Not only are adult education programmes an important part of all employees' personal development, but also of the development of all subjects whose staffing activities respect the principles of human resources management – personnel management. The Centre for Lifelong Education, aware of the importance of this fact to the continuous development of subjects, has, with the support of most of the Faculty of Education of Palacký University and associated cooperating subjects, compiled and organized an offering that can contribute to the fulfilment of the above principle, and is presenting it to the teaching community at large and the general public.
Projects are compiled and implemented while respecting and applying the following principles:
1. If possible, always satisfy the wishes of potential customers or partners.
2. Take into account real life and educational practice.
3. Instructor expertise is presumed and high – instructors are university teachers or managers with many years of experience.
4. Maximum teaching process efficiency.
5. Maximum return on investment for participants of educational programmes.
6. Implementation of educational programmes in areas where greater numbers of applicants live or work (over 20 applicants). Total costs for individual participants in a given educational programme are in this case lower than if the programme is implemented at the EF of PU.
7. Educational programmes and projects are structured according to client specifications and requirements by merging relevant modules and short-term events into individual projects.
8. Creation or participation in the creation of educational projects according to the requirements of individual schools, educational institutions or partners.
9. Providing free consulting services in the area of educational programme creation (based on submitted specifications), including financial balance sheets.
The Faculty of Education of PU provides adult education for citizens in the form of fee-based studies pursuant to Section 60 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll.
Adult education is carried out by the Centre for Lifelong Education of the Faculty of Education of PU in Olomouc in accordance with Act No. 563/2004 Coll., on educational staff and on changes to some Acts, and with Decree of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic No. 317/2005 Coll., on further education of educational staff, the accreditation commission and the career system of educational staff.
Our adult education offering contains the following types of further education of educational staff:
1. Studies to meet qualification requirements
2. Studies to meet other qualifications requirements
3. Studies to increase professional qualifications
Re 1)
These are studies where the learner gains knowledge and skills in the area of educational, special educational or psychological sciences that are not yet part if his/her professional qualifications.
They also include studies to broaden professional qualifications. These studies qualify the learner to perform direct teaching activity at a different type of school or at a different school level, or the qualifications to teach additional subjects.
These are one to three-year programmes.
Re 2)
This offering contains studies for managerial teaching staff, studies for teaching consultants and other studies for the performance of specialized activities. This is usually a two-year programme.
Re 3)
This is ongoing education focusing on current theoretical and practical issues related to the educational and upbringing process. It contains study programmes ranging from several hours up to three semesters.
Graduates of all adult education programmes shall receive a certificate in accordance with Section 29 of Act No. 563/2004 Coll.
A custom educational programme can be assembled in accordance with the requirements of a group of applicants that is based on all of the above study programmes, which can also be implemented at the customer's location.
Teaching takes place in the form of classroom instruction on Friday or Saturday at the F of E of PU in Olomouc combined with individual studies. Applicants for studies are usually accepted without entrance exams based on verification whether they meet conditions specified for acceptance for study – see the offering in the section "Adult education programmes pursuant to Decree No. 317/2005 Coll."
